Today, on January 17, during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Singapore were held high-level events - meetings with the President of this country Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
During the meetings the two sides decided to establish cooperation in a number of key directions.
The involvement of Singapore in privatization processes in Uzbekistan has been defined as the second direction of extensive cooperation between the two nations. In this context, prospects of implementing new projects with the involvement of advanced experience, modern technologies and management of Singapore's leading companies in privatization of large enterprises in Uzbekistan have been discussed.
The sides suggested establishing a Joint Investment Fund for transforming and restructuring state-owned enterprises in order to further carry them to IPO and attract foreign investments.
In particular, an Agreement on Cooperation between the State Assets Management Agency and the Singapore company "Templeton Asset Management Ltd" was signed.
