On 13 September this year, a meeting was held with the participation of representatives of the State Assets Management Agency (UzSAMA) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
At the beginning of the meeting, Director of UzSAMA Akmalkhon Ortikov noted that effective co-operation with the IFC is consistently developing and the strategic partnership is getting stronger. Besides, the agreement signed on 2 February 2022 between the IFC and UzSAMA on assistance to privatization processes implemented in our country and attraction of foreign investments has brought the cooperation to a new qualitative level.
In turn, Wiebke Schloemer, Director of the IFC for Turkey and Central Asia region, was pleased to note that the co-operation between UzSAMA and the IFC has developed significantly in recent years and the scale of projects is increasing day by day.
Further, the parties discussed in detail the current status of the projects in which the IFC participates as a Strategic consultant, according to the corresponding privatization programs, future plans, as well as their acceleration mechanisms and joint actions.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to jointly develop new perspective projects, intensify cooperation on broad attraction of foreign investors by the IFC to the privatization programs implemented in Uzbekistan .
