On July 4 this year, in order to discuss the prospects of the market, the international conference "Capital Market in Uzbekistan: Risks and Opportunities" was held, which was organized by the "Kursiv" discussion platform. This event brought together representatives of state agencies, international consulting companies, brokerage companies and banks.
The topic of "People's IPO" as one of the ways of privatization of state assets in Uzbekistan was discussed at the first panel discussion. Deputy Director of the State Assets Management Agency Alisher Miraliev delivered his speech at the session.
In his speech Mr. Miraliev noted that the main goal of the "People's IPO" is to attract to these processes the maximum possible number of people, creating an additional source of income for the population, instilling in them a sense of ownership, as well as establishing publicity and public control over the activities of large enterprises.
It was also stressed that the enterprises proposed to the "People's IPO" on the principle of "one share - one lot", were selected based on their profitability, unique history, public understanding of their activities and plans to obtain an international rating and to enter the international stock exchanges.
In addition, it was mentioned that one of the main objectives is to develop the trading circulation of securities on the stock market through the "People's IPO".
Conference participants were familiarized with the simplified procedure of selling through the "People's IPO" shares of large companies with high profits relative to other companies and of great importance in the economy through an electronic trading platform "E-auksion", as well as with the advantages and benefits of using the platform "E-auksion".
At the same time, First Deputy General Director of the Agency for Strategic Reforms Abdulla Abdukodirov spoke in the Q&A session of the first panel discussion and expressed confidence in the success of the "People's IPO" in close cooperation between the two agencies, using all available opportunities and resources.
